Judith Fick
About me (Judith Fick): I am 41 years old and work as a dog trainer. I live in Wassenaar and adopted 2 rescue dogs, originally from Spain. My first rescue dog is the reason I am a dog trainer nowadays.
My belief
I like to have a nice connection with my customers and people I work with. When we work together on training your dog, I look at the overal situation and will give my best advice. I like dog owners who try to understand their dog and want to put effort, money and time in. Who understands the wellbeing of the dog. I use a positive training method, but I am also very clear towards the dog. I believe a dog deserves as much freedom as he can handle. It is our job to take care of the animal the best we can. Because changing behaviour takes time of the dog ánd owner, I love to be involved as much as possible. Only repetition will cause changes. Aftercare is always included in my offer. Do you like the way I see it, than I would love to meet you!
Qualifications and work
I studied for dog trainer at O&O, ‘Nederlandse Vereniging voor Instructeurs in Hondenopvoeding en -opleiding’ and at Dogvision ‘Kynologisch opleidingscentrum’. I studied Dog Behavioural Therapy. This is a 4 year bachelor education. Dog trainer of behavioural therapist is not a protected profession, so anyone can say there are. Be careful who you hire.
I worked as a dogtrainer for KNGF, guide dogs for the blind, and for my own company Hondentaak. I used to do behavioural tests at DOA, the animal shelter in Amsterdam and I work with the Leonberger breed club for behavioural tests.
